Patio/Sliding Glass Door Repair

Sliding Glass Door Roller Replacement

When rollers wear out, a sliding door starts dragging, grinding, and feeling heavier every week. Our mobile technicians come prepared, with a well-stocked inventory of common replacement parts, so many repairs can be completed in a single visit.

A typical roller service includes track cleanup, replacing worn rollers, re-setting the panels for proper alignment, and adjusting the lock so the door glides smoothly and closes securely. We’ll also wipe down the glass as part of the finishing touch. If the track has been damaged from dragging rollers, we can address that as well.

Sliding Door Track Repair

Track damage is often caused by doors being used for too long with worn rollers—or by installing rollers that aren’t the right fit for the door. When the running surface is dented or uneven, we can install a stainless track cap over the worn bead to create a smooth, durable surface for the rollers to ride on again.

Complete Sliding Door Track Replacement

If the track bead is too damaged for a cap to perform properly, a full bottom-track replacement may be the best long-term solution. This process typically involves removing the panels, taking out the old track, installing and sealing a new track, and setting the door back up with properly matched rollers. We also apply waterproofing in the corners and under the new track where needed.

To protect the new track from future wear, we finish the job with a protective stainless track cap, so the running surface stays smooth and resistant to dents.

Water Proofing with a Sill Pan

If a sliding door track is leaking and causing water intrusion into flooring or drywall, a sill pan can help manage and redirect moisture to the exterior. We can install a thin metal sill pan under the new track and seal it with waterproofing material, then secure the track on top. The pan is designed to catch water and guide it outside—where it belongs.

Re-glazing

If the vertical rails are separating from the glass, it’s often because the door has been forced open and closed while the rollers weren’t doing their job. When a panel drags instead of rolling, the stress transfers into the frame over time.

Re-glazing corrects this by removing the panel, separating the frame from the glass, restoring the glazing vinyl/rubber, and reassembling the panel so the glass is properly protected and seated again. Roller replacement is typically recommended at the same time to prevent the issue from returning.

Sliding Glass Door Cut-Down

If the opening above the door has settled and the panels are binding (commonly called header sag), the door may not have enough clearance to slide freely. Depending on the situation, there are two practical paths: replace the door system, or resize the existing panel through a cut-down.

A cut-down rebuilds the panel with correctly sized glass so it fits the opening again and rolls freely. This is also the ideal time to upgrade rollers and add protective track solutions for long-term performance.

Sliding Glass Door Lock and Handles

We replace and upgrade sliding door locks and handles, including multi-point options, security bolts, and easy-glide pulls that make the door simpler to operate. If your door doesn’t latch reliably or the handle is loose or broken, we can recommend the right hardware and install it cleanly.
